Baiting and Setting a Trapinator
Trapinator traps have been tested against National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) guidelines and have passed the humane standards. However, the testing was undertaken using paste bait on the bite block only. The use of fruit on the bait bar has not been specifically tested by NAWAC. After successful catches of hundreds of possums using the fruit bait, we are confident that provided the fruit does not hang below the bite block (as shown in the above video) then the method is humane.
